Amitabh Bachchan shares family history and personal anecdotes

During an episode of the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, actor Amitabh Bachchan shared personal anecdotes regarding his family history and household habits.

Bachchan revealed that his father, the renowned Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, chose ‘Bachchan’ as the family surname to reject the caste system. While enrolling Amitabh in school, his father refused to provide a caste designation, stating, ‘Our caste is Bachchan.’

Additionally, the actor described how he and his son, Abhishek Bachchan, manage their interest in late-night sports. To avoid disturbing Jaya Bachchan, they use a separate television and often wear headphones or keep the volume low to prevent their celebrations from waking the family.
