Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan announced that pre‑production for the upcoming 18th edition of the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati has wrapped and that filming will commence on August 1. In a blog post he thanked fans for their Guru Purnima wishes, noting the flood of messages and apologising for any delayed replies. He wrote, “the test starts now … as the final mocks get over and the production and audience takes over.”

The new season, the Hindi adaptation of the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? franchise, will be broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television, with the first episode slated to air on August 10.
