Amjad Ali Khan and Krishna Das collaborate on Chants for Unity

Sarod maestro Ustaad Amjad Ali Khan has collaborated with devotional artist Krishna Das on a new track titled ‘Om Mani Padme Hum’. The piece is part of the album ‘Chants for Unity’, which integrates sacred chants, shlokas, stotras, and kirtan with the traditional vocabulary of the sarod.

The collaboration also features Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash. The album includes nine tracks and marks the vocal debut of Subhalakshmi Borooah Khan. Other contributors include Nina Rao, Jai Uttal, Pandit Vijaykumar, and Pandit Narayanan.

Amjad Ali Khan described the project as a humble offering toward peace, compassion, and universal oneness. Krishna Das noted that the album is rooted in the idea that music and prayer can transcend human divisions.
