Amélie Hoeferle and Graham Campbell cast in ‘Patinando no Amor’

Amélie Hoeferle and Graham Campbell have been cast as the leads in the Sony Pictures film adaptation of Lynn Painter’s bestselling teen romance, ‘Patinando no Amor’. Hoeferle will play Dani and Campbell will play Alec.

The story follows two childhood friends who reunite in a small town centered around hockey. After years of lost contact, the pair enters into a fake relationship that eventually leads to real feelings. The original novel has been a significant commercial success, appearing 48 times on The New York Times young adult bestseller list and winning the 2025 Goodreads Choice Award for young adult fiction.

Josh Boone, known for directing ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, will direct the film. The screenplay was written by Morgan Lehmann and Victoria Bata, with revisions by Boone and Knate Lee. Lynn Painter will serve as an executive producer alongside Madison Jones. The film is scheduled for release on July 16, 2027.
