Amma marks 73rd birthday with call for global service and moral reform

During the Amritavarsham 73 celebrations marking her 73rd birthday, Amma designated the occasion as Vishwa Seva Dinam, a day dedicated to global service rather than traditional celebration.

Addressing the challenges facing modern society, Amma highlighted the decline of moral values and the rising threat of drug addiction among youth. She described the drug menace as a dangerous war that destroys young people in their formative years. She also linked the increase in crimes, such as rape, to polluted minds caused by negative digital content and intoxicants.

Amma emphasized the need for a holistic education system that trains the mind, comparing current methods to exercising only one part of the body. She advocated for a return to a society based on love, dharma, and selfless service, suggesting that internal personal growth and the cultivation of virtue are essential to bringing about external global change.
