Ammerländer Versicherung launches SYONICS IT platform

Ammerländer Versicherung has expanded its business model by founding SYONICS GmbH, a new IT platform provider for the insurance industry. As the sole shareholder, the insurer aims to position itself as a technology provider in addition to its traditional insurance services.

SYONICS offers a modular, cloud-based platform designed to help insurers and insurance intermediaries modernize their existing IT landscapes. Rather than requiring a complete and costly replacement of legacy core systems, the platform uses an integration approach. This allows companies to gradually incorporate individual functions—such as product, contract, and inventory management, as well as claims and benefits processing—into their current architecture via standardized interfaces.

The service is specifically aimed at small and medium-sized insurers who may face high investment costs, limited IT resources, and the risks associated with long-term migrations. The platform's scope includes customer, data, and document services, alongside reporting and control functions.
