Amneal Pharmaceuticals hosts Indian Department of Pharmaceuticals Secretary

Manoj Joshi, Secretary of the Department of Pharmaceuticals for the Government of India, visited the Amneal Pharmaceuticals corporate office in Ahmedabad. The visit focused on the company’s growth, investments, and its expanding role in the pharmaceutical manufacturing ecosystem.

Discussions highlighted Amneal’s increased biosimilars capabilities following its acquisition of Kashiv BioSciences. This acquisition has created an integrated global biosimilars platform that combines Kashiv’s biologics expertise with Amneal’s manufacturing and commercial scale. The company is also expanding its footprint in complex generics, injectables, peptides, and APIs.

The visit also addressed broader opportunities for India to advance biopharmaceutical innovation through R&D investment, advanced infrastructure, and regulatory science. These goals align with the government’s proposed Biopharma SHAKTI programme, which includes a planned ₹10,000 crore outlay over five years to strengthen the nation's biopharmaceutical ecosystem.
