Amon-Ra St. Brown discusses German heritage and upbringing

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown recently discussed his multicultural upbringing during an appearance on ‘The Gronk and Jules Show’. St. Brown, a multi-time Pro Bowl selection, shared that he holds dual citizenship as an American and a German citizen due to his mother, Miriam Brown, who is originally from Leverkusen, Germany.

St. Brown noted that his mother spoke only German to him and his brothers while they were growing up, which allowed them to remain deeply connected to German culture. He credited his athletic discipline to his father, John Brown, a professional bodybuilder from the 1980s, who introduced him to weight training at the age of six.
