Amorgos hosts educational trip for Little Seismologists students
Students from the ‘Little Seismologists’ group of the 7th Experimental Gymnasium of Kalamata participated in an educational trip to Amorgos from October 8 to 11 as part of the AMORGOS Project.
During the visit, students engaged in scientific research and presented posters regarding tsunamis at a Science Fair and an exhibition at the Chora Library. They interacted with scientists at educational booths to learn about earthquakes and natural phenomena.
The program included field excursions, such as a visit to the Panagia Hozoviotissa Monastery to learn about seismic history and local seismographs. Additionally, students participated in a tsunami evacuation drill at Agia Anna beach to understand the importance of prevention and rapid response.
