Amos Rwangomani firearms case adjourned by military court
The General Court Martial in Makindye has adjourned the firearms case against Amos Rwangomani, the brother of Water and Environment Minister Gen Kahinda Otafiire, to November 4.
Prosecution led by Lt Regina Nanzala requested the delay to allow investigators to address identified gaps in the case file and provide an updated version. Rwangomani’s defense counsel, Capt Daniel Kagombe, did not object to the request. The court, presided over by Col Fredrick Kangwamu, granted the adjournment.
Rwangomani, 56, faces three counts regarding the alleged unlawful possession of two pistols and 10 rounds of ammunition. The prosecution alleges that in October 2025, Rwangomani was found at the Mulago Business Centre in Kampala with a pistol restricted to the Defence Forces, a second pistol, and ammunition. Although a civilian and a supervisor at Kamed Security Company, he is being tried under the Uganda People’s Defence Forces Act.
