Amparo: Elderly woman critically injured in Rottweiler attack

An elderly woman is in serious condition after being attacked by two Rottweilers in the Jardim Cachoeira neighborhood of Amparo, São Paulo. The victim, aged 72 or 73, suffered severe injuries including the loss of both ears, arm fractures, and multiple bites to her neck and lower limbs.

Medical reports indicate that the woman's right limb is severely compromised, posing a risk of amputation. She was treated by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and taken to Hospital Anna Cintra, where she underwent emergency surgery and remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Police investigations suggest the dogs escaped from a nearby property. While the owners claimed the gate was closed, reports indicate a sliding gate may have been off its track. The Civil Police are investigating the owner, a 43-year-old man, for bodily injury and failure to exercise caution in the custody of animals.
