Ampera Bridge designated as national cultural heritage in Palembang

The Ampera Bridge in Palembang has been officially designated as a national cultural heritage site. Indonesian Minister of Culture Fadli Zon announced the status, noting that the bridge meets the necessary criteria due to its historical value and its integral role in the history of the Palembang community. This designation aims to strengthen protections for the bridge's structure and authenticity.

Following this designation, the Palembang City Government plans to open the Ampera Bridge towers to the public as a new tourist destination.

In a separate environmental effort, Palembang Mayor Ratu Dewa and activist Benedict Wermter conducted a cleanup operation at the Musi River's Dermaga 7 Ulu. The initiative focused on removing plastic waste, styrofoam, and household refuse to educate residents on responsible waste management and the importance of keeping the river clean.
