Amphia Hospital implements wheel clamps for staff parking violations
Amphia Hospital in Breda, Netherlands, will begin using wheel clamps to penalize staff members who park incorrectly at the P4 staff entrance parking lot starting November 1. The hospital management stated that previous attempts to correct parking behavior—including warning cards, security interventions, and internal communications—have proven ineffective.
Improper parking has caused safety concerns by obstructing traffic flow and has occasionally resulted in damage to other vehicles. While the hospital provides 1,609 parking spaces for its approximately 5,000 employees, congestion often occurs during shift changes and on specific busy days.
Under the new policy, security personnel will apply wheel clamps to improperly parked vehicles. While there is no monetary fine, violations are recorded and result in official warnings. Employees who commit three violations will be banned from the staff parking lot for one week and must seek permission from their supervisor to return. Repeat offenders face the permanent revocation of their parking privileges at the facility.
