Amphilochia car accident: Family of four survives total vehicle destruction

A family of four from Agrinio survived a severe car accident on the Amphilochia–Vonitsa National Road on Sunday afternoon, September 6. The incident occurred around 18:30 at the 1st kilometer of the highway when their vehicle veered off the road.

The car traveled approximately 50 meters down an embankment, undergoing multiple rollovers before coming to rest on its roof. The impact was so violent that the vehicle was completely destroyed, described as a mass of deformed metal.

The occupants, including a 61-year-old woman, her son who was driving, and two children, managed to exit the wreckage on their own. Emergency services, including the Fire Service, Amphilochia Police, and EKAV paramedics, arrived at the scene within five minutes following a witness report.

The 61-year-old woman and an 11-year-old child were initially taken to the Amphilochia Health Center. While they reportedly did not sustain serious injuries, they were transferred to the Agrinio General Hospital for further medical examination.
