AMPI Chair Jerry Sambuaga Declares Expanded Plenary Meeting Illegal

Chairman of the Angkatan Muda Pembaharuan Indonesia (AMPI), Jerry Sambuaga, stated that the expanded plenary session held on 30 July 2026 was illegal. He emphasized that the meeting was convened without any basis in the organization’s statutes or the authority of the central board (DPP AMPI), and therefore any decisions made there are not binding.

Sambuaga explained that AMPI’s charter contains clear, written rules governing disciplinary procedures, and that the chairperson cannot be removed through an ad‑hoc plenary. He added that the individuals who organized the illegal session are no longer part of the DPP and have no legitimate authority to act on behalf of the organization. The chairman called for adherence to the established organisational procedures to maintain order within the youth movement.
