AmplexDiagnostics and Scope Biosciences launch CRISPR-based diagnostic tool

AmplexDiagnostics and Scope Biosciences have announced a collaboration to launch ‘eazySNP’, a molecular diagnostics solution that integrates LAMP and CRISPR technologies. This synergy allows for the rapid and highly specific detection of genetic variants.

The first product released under this technology is ‘eazySNP C. auris FKS1 S639’, a CE-IVD diagnostic test. It is designed to detect clinically relevant mutations in the FKS1 gene of Candida auris, a multidrug-resistant yeast pathogen. Identifying these mutations is critical because echinocandins are the primary first-line treatment for such infections.

The assay operates on the AmplexDiagnostics eazyMini platform, delivering results from a yeast colony in approximately 45 minutes. For Scope Biosciences, this launch marks a strategic expansion from plant health diagnostics into the human molecular diagnostics market.
