Ampol announces permanent closure of Dubbo service station

Ampol has announced the permanent closure of its Talmac service station in Dubbo, scheduled for later this month in October 2026. The company has submitted a development application to the Dubbo Regional Council to begin remediation works at the 199 Bourke Street site.

The proposed works involve the removal of above-ground bowsers, underground petrol storage infrastructure, and contaminated soils. While the specific future use of the site remains undetermined, the remediation is intended to prepare the location for future non-sensitive commercial uses. Ampol will remain a long-term tenant of the site during this transition.
