Ampol integrates EV charging into AmpolCard for commercial fleets

Ampol has expanded its AmpolCard service to include public electric vehicle (EV) charging via its AmpCharge network. This update allows businesses to manage fuel, convenience purchases, and EV charging through a single payment platform, unified billing, and consolidated reporting.

Drivers can access all AmpCharge public charging sites across Australia using a physical RFID-enabled card. The integration is intended to assist fleet managers in transitioning to electric vehicles by reducing administrative complexity, allowing them to operate mixed fleets of petrol, diesel, and electric vehicles under one account.

This development follows Ampol’s proposed acquisition of Evie Networks, which, pending regulatory clearance, is expected to add over 1,000 EV charging bays to the company’s existing network.
