Amposta completes historic riverfront renovation of Cases del Castell

The town of Amposta has finished the restoration of the Cases del Castell, a 19th‑ and early‑20th‑century building complex on the Ebre riverfront. The work is part of the Sustainable Tourism Plan funded by the EU Next Generation programme, with a total investment of three million euros – two million from EU funds and one million from the municipal budget. Mayor Adam Tomàs highlighted the recovery of the river façade as the most important achievement. The renovated buildings will host a new tourism office, a restaurant and a terrace offering views of the river and the Pont Penjant. Architect Carles Brull led the project, and archaeological remains of the medieval castle’s storage and a tower were uncovered during the works.
