Amposta Council and UGT to negotiate a bespoke collective agreement for new street‑cleaning contract

The municipal government of Amposta and the trade union UGT have agreed to start negotiations on a specific collective bargaining agreement for the town’s new street‑cleaning service. The plan was confirmed in a meeting attended by Mayor Adam Tomàs, UGT Terres de l’Ebre secretary Josep Espinós, and Urbaser union delegate Vicent Barrachina.

A tripartite negotiating table will be created, bringing together the awarded contractor FCC Medio Ambiente (Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas), the Amposta City Council, and worker representatives. The aim is to replace the generic national sector agreement with a local framework that improves working conditions, occupational safety and health, and overall service quality for residents. The tender is currently in the provisional award stage, and negotiations will commence once the contract is definitively awarded.
