Amposta to host first Odontology degree in Tarragona region

The Amposta City Council has approved the administrative procedures necessary to expand the municipal university complex to include a new degree in Odontology. This will make Amposta the first municipality in the Tarragona demarcation to offer these studies, filling a gap in the regional academic landscape.

The project involves an investment of over one million euros to adapt and expand the municipal auditorium. The city will launch a public tender for the management and operation of the building for a 40-year period. The successful bidder will pay an annual fee of approximately 71,000 euros, which may be offset by the cost of improvements and works carried out during the first 20 years of the concession.

The studies will be provided by the private university EUSES and are expected to accommodate approximately 40 additional students. The initiative aims to regularize the use of the space and meet the high demand for dental studies in the province.
