Ampt expands DC-coupled energy storage technology through global partnerships

Ampt, a provider of DC power optimization technology, has announced a strategic partnership with AmpereHour Energy to distribute its direct-to-battery (D2B) solutions across India, South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The collaboration integrates Ampt’s string optimizers with AmpereHour Energy’s battery storage systems and energy management software to improve efficiency and reduce costs for utility-scale and commercial applications.

In a separate development, Ampt has been selected for a mid-scale solar-plus-storage project in Victoria, Australia. This 8.2 MWdc solar and 20 MWh battery project will utilize Ampt’s D2B architecture to connect the solar array directly to a shared DC bus. This configuration aims to lower upfront costs by eliminating the need for central DC/DC converters, solar inverters, or transformers, while mitigating energy losses caused by module degradation, shade, or temperature imbalances.
