Amr Saad launches first production with Naguib Mahfouz’s ‘Children of the Alley’ adaptation

Egyptian actor Amr Saad is moving into production, announcing his debut project – a drama series based on Naguib Mahfouz’s Nobel‑winning novel Children of the Alley. The series will be directed by Mohamed Yassin, with casting already under way and filming slated to begin in the coming weeks.

Saad holds the adaptation rights to several other Mahfouz works, including Echo of Forgetting, The Living in Truth, and a temporary hold on The Thief and the Dogs. He aims to bring classic Arabic literature to contemporary screens, building on his recent acting successes such as the film Al‑Ghorban and the Ramadan series Ifrâj.
