AMRA Jujuy declares state of alert over medical working conditions
The Association of Physicians of the Argentine Republic (AMRA) in Jujuy has declared a state of alert, mobilization, and permanent assembly due to a deteriorating situation in the provincial public health system.
General Secretary Ruben Camaño stated that recent salary proposals from the provincial government are insufficient to counter inflation and the loss of purchasing power. Beyond wages, the union is protesting precarious working conditions, multiple employment requirements, and alleged labor persecution. Camaño specifically denounced administrative sanctions being applied to doctors without allowing them a proper opportunity to defend themselves, as well as the continued presence of officials from the previous administration.
AMRA has developed an integral health plan and requested an audience with the governor to demand structural changes. If no progress is made, the union warned of potential industrial actions targeting the surgery department at Hospital Pablo Soria and the gynecology departments at the Materno Infantil and Alto Comedero hospitals.
