Amran Sulaiman dismisses 14 Ministry of Agriculture officials

Indonesian Minister of Agriculture and Head of the National Food Agency, Amran Sulaiman, has dismissed 14 officials from the Ministry of Agriculture due to suspected financial irregularities involving billions of rupiah. The dismissed individuals, spanning Echelon I, II, and III levels, have been stripped of their positions pending investigation.

During a press conference in Jakarta, Amran stated that the move serves as both a structural refreshment and a disciplinary measure. He emphasized a commitment to meritocracy, noting that even a close family member was among those removed from their posts.

Amran clarified that if the investigations prove the officials caused state losses, the cases will be handed over to law enforcement. Conversely, if they are cleared of all wrongdoing, they will be eligible for reinstatement or promotion.
