América de Cali prepares 2026 roster, targets first signing and goalkeeper replacement
Colombian club América de Cali is already shaping its squad for the 2026 season. The board says negotiations are advanced for the club’s first reinforcement, a player expected to add experience and depth as the team aims to compete for domestic titles and continental tournaments. The intended approach is to avoid improvisation by securing the signing early and building a solid core before adding further pieces.
Goalkeeper Jorge Soto, 32, has left the club after his contract expired and is now a free agent. Atlético Bucaramanga and Millonarios have been reported as interested in signing him to fill gaps in their own goalkeeping departments.
In addition, the technical staff has identified two forwards as primary targets: Francisco Fydriszewski of Independiente Medellín and Santiago Giordana of Millonarios. Both are being evaluated to strengthen the striker position ahead of the second half of the 2026 campaign and upcoming continental competitions.
