Four individuals, including two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and two Uttar Pradesh police officers, have been arrested following the alleged gang rape of a 24-year-old woman from Haryana in Amroha district.

The victim reported that she was lured to the location under the pretext of visiting religious sites. The incident occurred at a farmhouse in the Hasanpur area, which is reportedly linked to Umesh Kumar Sharma, an independent MLA from Uttarakhand. The victim managed to secure herself in a room and contacted the police via an online helpline after one of the accused attempted to enter her room.

Amroha Superintendent of Police Lakhan Singh Yadav confirmed that the accused—identified as CRPF Inspector Mohit, Head Constable Lalaram Yadav, Sub-Inspector Sanjay Tomar, and Head Constable Pramod—are in custody. The two Uttar Pradesh police officers have been suspended, and departmental proceedings are underway. An FIR has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for abduction and gang rape.
