ams OSRAM and Rohde & Schwarz showcase optical technologies at CIOE
At the 2026 China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE), ams OSRAM unveiled a collaborative imaging and display technology solution designed for smartphones. Developed in partnership with vivo, the solution integrates advanced sensing technologies to bridge the gap between environmental light perception, image capture, and spatial understanding.
The technical suite includes OLED under-display spectral color sensors for precise brightness and color management, multi-channel spectral sensors for flicker detection and white balance, and a direct Time-of-Flight (dToF) sensor for depth sensing and AR applications. This integration aims to provide a “what you see is what you get” visual experience by allowing devices to better interpret light and space.
Separately, Rohde & Schwarz showcased various precision testing solutions at the expo. Their offerings focus on optical communications, lasers, and advanced photonic technologies. Key demonstrations included high-bandwidth PIC testing up to 110 GHz, relative intensity noise analysis, laser linewidth measurement, and L-I-V characteristic testing for laser diodes, supporting both research and mass production quality control.
