Amstelvoorde residential development reaches milestone with first housing delivery

The new residential area of Amstelvoorde, located in the municipality of Ouder-Amstel, will celebrate the official delivery of the De Middenstip community building on November 10, 2026. This milestone marks a significant step in the development of the area, which was formerly known as De Nieuwe Kern.

The first phase of the project consists of 330 temporary social rental homes managed by housing corporation Ymere. These units are designated for starters and status holders, with 30 percent of the housing reserved for youth from the Ouder-Amstel municipality. The development is expected to eventually grow into a vibrant community of approximately 6,000 to 6,200 homes.

Beyond residential space, the Amstelvoorde project is planned to include offices, catering, schools, and sports facilities. Future plans include a larger sports complex for Ajax and accommodations for the football club FC Amsterdam near the Smart Mobility Hub.
