Amsterdam and Ameland host major cultural and tourism events in September

Amsterdam Fashion Week 2026 is scheduled to take place from September 1 to September 5, featuring a variety of catwalk shows, exhibitions, workshops, and pop-up events. Notable highlights include the ‘A Space For Time’ exhibition at Herengracht, a retrospective photography exhibition by Peter Stigter at De Hallen celebrating 20 years of Lichting, and a collection presentation by Wouters & Hendrix at Museum Van Loon.

Separately, the WadNext 2026 international conference will be held in Ameland from September 7 to September 9. The event focuses on the future of sustainable tourism in the Wadden Sea region, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The conference aims to bring together policymakers, destination managers, and researchers to discuss balancing visitor numbers with local livability and nature conservation. It will also feature the Green Destinations Award Ceremony.
