Amsterdam climate march draws thousands to protest fossil fuels

Thousands of people participated in a climate march in Amsterdam on Saturday, walking a 2.5-kilometer route from Dam Square to Museumplein. Organized by the Klimaatcrisis Coalitie (KCC)—a group including Milieudefensie and Extinction Rebellion—the demonstration aimed to draw attention to the climate crisis.

Protesters demanded an end to fossil fuel use in the Netherlands and called for an accelerated transition to clean energy. Participants carried signs with slogans such as ‘Holy moly, stop met olie’ and ‘fossiel is niet cool’. Prior to the march, the Young Climate Movement presented an ‘action call’ to Climate Minister Stientje van Veldhoven.
