Amsterdam mass demonstration announced against Israeli military funding

Thirteen organizations, including Amnesty International, have announced a mass demonstration in Amsterdam scheduled for November 8. The protest, titled ‘De Rode Lijn Voorbij – geen geld voor genocide’, aims to demand that the Dutch government cease facilitating and financing Israel’s military actions and occupation.

Activists are calling for several specific measures, including the expansion of trade bans to cover all investments contributing to the occupation, the suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement, and an end to all direct and indirect arms trade and military cooperation with Israel.

In addition to the Amsterdam demonstration, a week of actions is planned across various Dutch cities throughout October. These activities include sit-ins, marches, and commemorations in locations such as Leiden and Hilversum, intended to pressure politicians, administrators, and CEOs to sever military, economic, and cultural ties with Israel.
