Amusement park accidents reported in Spain and the United Kingdom

Multiple amusement park incidents involving ride malfunctions and injuries have been reported in Spain and the United Kingdom.

In Madrid, a 49-year-old man suffered two fractured legs after an accident on the Batman Gotham City Escape rollercoaster at Parque Warner. Witnesses reported the man slipped from his seat and became partially trapped upside down. The park was evacuated, and an investigation has been launched while the ride remains closed.

In Almería, Spain, seven people were trapped approximately 50 metres in the air on a ride known as ‘The Hammer’ (or ‘Gigant’) during the Feria de Almería. Following reports of fragments falling from the ride, emergency services conducted a complex rescue using specialized ladders, successfully evacuating all passengers by 3:00 am.

In Lowestoft, UK, 27 passengers were stranded for nearly three hours on the Wipeout rollercoaster at Pleasurewood Hills. The carriages stopped approximately 15 metres above the ground. Suffolk Fire and Rescue used aerial ladders and scissor lifts to bring all riders to safety; no injuries were reported in this incident.
