Amy Jones charged with posing as Milwaukee substitute teacher

Amy Jones, 23, faces six felony counts after allegedly posing as a substitute teacher at Rufus King International High School in Milwaukee on September 24. Prosecutors claim Jones entered the school by telling the front office she was a substitute, allowing her to access classrooms during the first few periods of the day.

According to criminal complaints, Jones used racial slurs, profane language, and sexually degrading terms toward students. Students reported that she organized them by race and gender, called a student a “fat boy,” and asked a female student if she wanted to be a “stripper or a hooker.” She also allegedly told two white students they were “the type of people to start school shootings.”

Jones, a former student of the school, was escorted from the building during the third period. Investigators stated that Jones admitted to the behavior, claiming she was “bored,” “hates kids,” and was “just messing around.” She reportedly expressed satisfaction at the prospect of becoming infamous. Jones faces charges including falsely representing herself as a public employee and exposing children to harmful descriptions.
