Amy Ryan and Emilia Jones to star in ‘The Retrievals’

Actress Amy Ryan has been cast to star alongside Emilia Jones in ‘The Retrievals’. The series is inspired by the Peabody-winning New York Times podcast by Susan Burton.

The story centers on a community of IVF patients who take legal action against Yale University. The plot follows the aftermath of a nurse at the Yale Fertility Centre who pleaded guilty to diverting fentanyl and diluting it with saline, resulting in patients undergoing egg retrieval surgeries without anesthesia. Ryan will portray Carla Russo, the nurse involved, while Jones will play Gabby Clemente, a victim who leads the legal battle against the university.

The project is written and directed by Metzler, with executive production involving LuckyChap, including Margot Robbie, Dani Gorin, and Tom Ackerley. Lila Neugebauer is set to direct the pilot episode.
