Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black marks 20th anniversary

The music industry is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Amy Winehouse’s landmark second studio album, ‘Back to Black’. Originally released on October 27, 2006, the record transformed the London singer into an international star, blending soul, jazz, and Motown influences with unvarnished, personal songwriting.

To commemorate the milestone, a tribute concert was held at London’s Roundhouse, featuring the Amy Winehouse Band led by Dale Davis. Producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi participated in the event, which included guest performances by artists such as Corinne Bailey Rae, Lianne La Havas, and Jorja Smith. The concert was recorded for BBC Two and BBC Radio 2.

A new anniversary edition of the album has been released, containing the original tracks alongside four previously unreleased demos, rare B-sides, and a complete live performance recorded at Paradiso in Amsterdam in February 2007. The album remains one of the most commercially successful British records of the 21st century, having sold over 20 million copies.
