Amy Winehouse musical in development for London's West End

A stage musical inspired by the life and music of the late singer Amy Winehouse is currently in development for London’s West End. The project is in its early stages, but casting searches have reportedly already begun.

Tony Award-winning producer Catherine Schreiber is involved in the production. Mitch Winehouse, the singer's father and manager of her estate, is also expected to participate. It remains undecided whether the production will function as a biographical show or a jukebox musical featuring an original plot set to her hits.

The announcement comes as fans celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album ‘Back to Black’. A tribute concert was recently held at London's Roundhouse, and an expanded reissue of the album, including previously unreleased demos, is scheduled for release.
