Amy Winehouse unpublished 2007 interview released
A previously unpublished interview with singer Amy Winehouse, conducted in May 2007, has been released nearly two decades after it was recorded. The conversation, originally intended for The Sunday Times, took place at the Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles shortly after her marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil.
During the interview, the 23-year-old singer reflected on her rising global fame following the success of her second studio album, ‘Back to Black’. While she admitted that her younger self feared dying without “making a stamp on things,” she expressed a sense of peace regarding her career at the time, stating, “I’ve just done an album that I’m really proud of. If I die tomorrow then cool.”
Winehouse also shared her preference for domestic simplicity over the pressures of superstardom, noting that she found happiness in everyday activities such as cooking for friends and cleaning her house.
