An Giang police detain suspect in border lottery vendor murder

An Giang Provincial Police have officially charged and detained Huỳnh Nhật Hào, born in 2002, for murder. Hào, a resident of Kandal Province, Cambodia, is accused of stabbing a lottery vendor to steal 450,000 VND before hiding the body and fleeing to Cambodia.

The victim, identified as Huỳnh Văn Hai (born 1976), was discovered on August 7 in a decomposing state under grass near the border in Khánh Bình Commune, An Giang Province. Forensic examinations revealed multiple stab wounds from sharp objects.

Authorities noted that the crime occurred in a sensitive border area, causing public concern and impacting local commerce. The investigation involved coordination between the An Giang Criminal Police Department, the Ministry of Public Security, and local border guard units to track the suspect.
