An Giang police investigate counterfeit ST25 rice production

An Giang Provincial Police have launched a criminal investigation into the Chi Cuong Business Household for the production and sale of counterfeit food products. Authorities discovered the household was packaging and selling over 7,705 kg of rice falsely labeled as the protected ST25 brand.

Investigations revealed that the household purchased rice from local residents in the Binh Son, Hon Dat, and Kien Luong areas. This rice was then packed into unauthorized packaging featuring the ST25 brand and imagery belonging to the Ho Quang Tri Private Enterprise, a brand protected by law. The household reportedly used the counterfeit packaging to increase product marketability and profit despite knowing the labeling was illegal. The investigation is ongoing to identify and prosecute all involved individuals.
