An Giang provincial armed forces recognized with new traditional day

The Commander of Military Region 9 has officially recognized September 10, 1945, as the Traditional Day of the An Giang provincial armed forces. The decision was announced during a ceremony attended by Vice President Võ Thị Ánh Xuân and various former high-ranking leaders of the Party and State.

The recognition aims to honor the historical revolutionary journey of the region and to educate cadres, soldiers, and local citizens on patriotism and responsibility during the new development phase.

During the event, the State also posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to two individuals: Lâm Kiên Trì, former Secretary of the Kiên Giang Provincial Party Committee, and martyr Huỳnh Văn Thạnh, former Political Instructor of a local company in Giồng Riềng district. Vice President Võ Thị Ánh Xuân expressed deep gratitude to the martyrs and generations of soldiers who sacrificed for national independence.
