Ana Brnabić accused of undermining election observers in Serbia

The Bureau for Social Research (BIRODI) has accused Serbian National Assembly President Ana Brnabić of undermining election monitoring organizations. BIRODI claims Brnabić’s attacks on domestic observers contradict recommendations from the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), which previously called for authorities to ensure observers have unimpeded access to information without intimidation.

BIRODI specifically criticized Brnabić for labeling their research as ‘false’ and for mischaracterizing their methodology as a ‘Monte Carlo coefficient.’ The organization clarified that Monte Carlo is a standard statistical simulation method used to distribute possible outcomes, not a non-existent coefficient.

Furthermore, BIRODI noted that its analysis regarding the absolute number of Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) supporters aligns with recent findings from Faktor Plus, which measured SNS support at 47.2 percent. BIRODI emphasized the distinction between the 64 percent of respondents willing to vote and the actual projected voter turnout, estimated at approximately 52 to 53 percent.
