ANA delays Boeing 737 MAX delivery to December
ANA Holdings announced that the first delivery of its new Boeing 737-8 (737 MAX 8) aircraft for domestic routes is now expected in December or later. This follows previous delays caused by Boeing delivery setbacks, which had pushed the expected arrival from June to September, and then to October.
The 737-8 is intended to succeed the 737-800 in ANA’s domestic fleet. The airline has ordered up to 42 aircraft, with 38 confirmed. These new planes will feature world-first universal-specification lavatories designed to accommodate wheelchair users.
Separately, ANA is coordinating with Boeing for the early delivery of Boeing 787-9 aircraft featuring new cabin specifications. The updated international cabin includes the “THE Room FX” business class seats, which offer increased width, larger 24-inch monitors, and enhanced connectivity. The new configuration also includes upgraded premium economy and economy class seating designed for improved ergonomics and weight reduction.
