ANA expands digital services with WeChat integration and ANA Pay milestone
All Nippon Airways (ANA) is expanding its digital footprint through new payment integrations and service milestones. The company announced that its smartphone payment service, ANA Pay, has surpassed 2 million cumulative members. Following a 2023 renewal, the service now supports Visa touch payments, electronic money iD, and Smart Code QR payments. A key feature driving growth is the ability to convert miles into currency for payments at a rate of 1 mile per yen, a mechanism that has seen a fivefold increase in usage since the update.
Simultaneously, ANA has launched the ‘ANA WeChat Mini Program’ within China’s WeChat platform. This service allows users to check real-time seat availability, book and purchase tickets, change reservations, and process refunds directly within the app. Notably, the integration introduces support for WeChat Pay, a mobile payment method previously unavailable through ANA’s direct channels. The program utilizes IATA’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) standard to manage flight and service data, with plans to eventually add online check-in and flight status notifications.
