Ana Hickmann cleared of personal liability in Banco do Brasil debt case
The São Paulo Court of Justice (TJ‑SP) ruled that the signature attributed to television presenter Ana Hickmann on a credit‑cédula with Banco do Brasil was forged. A forensic graphotechnical analysis confirmed the falsification, and Judge Camila Sani Quinzani Malmegrin ordered the execution against Hickmann to be extinguished. The debt of R$ 1,051,430.44 remains enforceable against Hickmann Serviços Ltda., the company that was administered by her ex‑husband Alexandre Correa, whose signature on the document was deemed authentic. The bank did not contest the expert report and argued that the falsity only removes Hickmann’s personal guarantee, not the company’s obligation. The decision, issued on 31 July 2026, may be appealed by the bank or Correa. The ruling aligns with similar outcomes in other cases where banks such as Bradesco, Itaú and Safra had contracts involving Hickmann’s signature dismissed after forensic verification.
