Ana Lucía Pineda to publish earthquake relief fund accounting

First Lady Ana Lucía Pineda has announced that she will publish a full accounting of donations collected for victims of the August 10 earthquake. This decision follows scrutiny and accusations from opposition sectors regarding the management of funds raised through the ‘Colombia un solo corazón’ campaign.

Pineda stated that all collected resources remain in her foundation’s accounts. She explained that, in coordination with her board of directors, she decided not to utilize these funds until the second phase of the reconstruction process begins. This approach is intended to ensure that the rebuilding of homes for the more than 400,000 affected individuals is handled responsibly and in accordance with legal parameters.

The official report detailing the management and intended use of the resources is expected to be published on the foundation’s official website this Friday.
