Ana Maria Quintana Becomes President of Los Angeles County Division of League of California Cities

Bell Mayor Ana Maria Quintana was sworn in as president of the Los Angeles County Division of the League of California Cities at a ceremony on August 6. The new board, which represents all cities in the county, also includes vice‑president William Uphoff and other municipal leaders. Former California Supreme Court Justice Carlos R. Moreno administered the oath, and Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn gave remarks.

A week earlier, the City of Torrance held an installation ceremony for its newly elected officials. Sharon Kalani was sworn in as mayor, becoming the third woman to hold the post, while councilmembers David Kartsonis, Betty Lieu and Asam Sheikh also took office. City Clerk Rebecca Poirier and new treasurer Aurelio Mattucci were re‑elected, and the event featured messages from Rep. Maxine Waters, Rep. Ted Lieu, State Sen. Ben Allen and Janice Hahn.
