Ana Méndez Gil Leads PP Push to Reclaim Ourense Mayoralty by 2027

Ana Méndez Gil, the municipal spokesperson for the Partido Popular de Galicia and director of the public agency Galicia Calidade, announced her aim to win the Ourense mayoralty in the 2027 municipal elections. With a background in business management and two decades of private‑sector experience, she says the party has a growing “wave of support” and intends to present a programme focused on restoring municipal finances, conducting an immediate audit, and re‑engaging local businesses.

Méndez Gil criticised the current administration of mayor Gonzalo Pérez Jácome, describing Ourense as “paralised and without management” and warning that continued mis‑management could cause the city to lose its status in Galicia. She pledged to address pending subsidies, improve transparency of public spending, and strengthen the city’s relationship with regional authorities.
