Ana Muñiz Neyra elected Executive President of FLACMA

Ana Aurora Muñiz Neyra, the municipal president of San Mateo Atenco, Mexico, has been appointed Executive President of the Latin American Federation of Cities, Municipalities and Associations of Local Governments (FLACMA) for the 2026-2029 term.

The appointment was approved by the FLACMA Executive Bureau during an Ordinary General Assembly held in Sucre, Bolivia. The decision recognizes Muñiz Neyra’s leadership in strengthening the municipalist movement and her work supporting local governments across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Muñiz Neyra will serve alongside Alejo Umpiérrez Cabrera, the mayor of Rocha, Uruguay, who was elected President of FLACMA for the same period. As Executive President, she will focus on enhancing representation, cooperation, and management capacity for local governments in the region. This role complements her existing position as president of the Latin American Network of Municipalist Women.
