Ana Pečaver Lesić, 51, has been extradited from the United States to Croatia after living abroad for over two decades. She was convicted in absentia for her role in the 1995 contract killing of Ljubomir Novak near Crikvenica.

Novak, a wealthy individual who had returned from Sweden, was shot with an air rifle while jogging with his wife, Snježana Novak, on December 27, 1995. Investigations revealed a complex web involving five individuals, including a romantic entanglement between the victim's wife and Mario Pečaver.

According to court testimony, Ana Pečaver Lesić attempted to recruit Krešimir Luketić to carry out the murder before the plot was executed by Damir Perasz. Her father, Mario Pečaver, was also implicated as an organizer and was extradited from Panama three years ago.
